Predator CNC Editor V5.2 Released
Since 1994, Predator Software Inc.
has been developing CNC Editing and DNC Communication software for the machine
tool industry. The CNC Editor uses Microsoft Officeš compatible menus, tool bar,
and shortcut keys, which makes Predator CNC Editor easy to learn and use under
Windows 98 and NT/2000/XP.
The CNC Editor supports unlimited file size and has the ability to reduce CNC code size by quickly deleting block skips, comments, end of blocks, spaces and sequence number to minimize CNC program size. Improved cycle times can be accomplished by changing feed rates and spindle speeds for the entire program or any portion by using the override dials just like on a CNC control. Built-in math operations with trig functions allows the user to convert between inch and metric, radial and diameter, scale an axis, or wrap a linear axis about a rotary axis.
File compare, back plotting and DNC makes Predator CNC Editor unique. The integrated file compare allows two files to be compared side by side and edits/changes to be made within the same window. The backplotter prevents gouging a part, breaking a tool or crashing a CNC machine by graphically verifying any CNC program in a true 3D environment.
The backplotter supports 1-4 viewports, eight predefined views, zoom in, zoom out, pan and fit. Single channel RS-232 communication works in the background even while other software applications are running making drip-feeding very reliable. It also supports an unlimited number of different CNC machines and the ability to replace or remove ASCII characters upon sending/receiving to the CNC.
