Marposs Introduces M110 Optoflex
Marposs has introduced its new M110
Optoflex measuring machine for the dimensional inspection of shafts and
shaft-like parts. This automatic measuring system utilizes optoelectronic
technology, which allows for the inspection of a variety of parts while
performing different types of measurements.
The M110 Optoflex is designed for use in the shop floor environment. It can be integrated into a production line for interoperational or final inspection of parts with the possibility of feedback to the machine tool. Likewise, it can be used as an audit station or for post-process inspection applications.
A characteristic of the new M110 Optoflex is the level of flexibility. The use of shadow cast optoelectronic technology - an alternative to the contact and air-to-electronic solutions - allows measurements to be performed without touching the part, providing high speed inspection coupled with flexibility, so that several part types can be checked without any operator intervention, stated a company spokesperson. The M110 Optoflex utilizes infra-red optoelectronic probes (CCD). Its single light blade produces accurate and repeatable measurements, said a spokesperson. An LVDT probe can be incorporated for axial TIR measurements.
Performable checks using the M110 Optoflex gauge include static and dynamic diameters, roundness, stroke and index, straightness, as well as profile analysis such as measurement of an undercut radius.
The M110 Optoflex incorporates a universal reference master that is valid for the complete measuring range, regardless of the dimensions and shape of the parts to be measured, stated the spokesperson.
According to Marposs engineers, the M110 Optoflex is highly reliable and essentially maintenance-free. All that is required is to keep the lens clean. As with all optical systems, parts must be clean and dry before entering the M110 Optoflex gauge. "The M110 Optoflex is faster than a manual fixture gauge, and it can eliminate numerous inter-operational gauges," said the spokesperson.
The M110 Optoflex can measure parts up to 200 mm diameter with a maximum length of 800 mm and maximum weight of 80 kg. The maximum counterweight overall size capacity is 240 mm diameter.
