Ultra Quartz is a heavy-duty, premium floor-patching system with excellent
resistance to chemicals as well as to abrasion, the company said. Trowelable to
a smooth, nonporous finish, it attains a compression strength of 9,000 psi, more
than three times the typical strength of concrete, said Devcon.
"Ultra Quartz offers outstanding protection against acids, alkalis, water, oils, solvents and many other industrial chemicals," said a spokesperson. "It can be built up to a thickness of 1" on damaged or pitted concrete floors. Because Ultra Quartz will not sag, drip or run, it also can be used to repair vertical and overhead surfaces. With a pot life of 60 minutes, it achieves full cure within 16 hours of application. It withstands temperatures up to 120¡ F wet or 200¡ F dry.
"Like other 'Floor Savers' floor-maintenance products from Devcon, Ultra Quartz cures at room temperature and can be easily applied by plant personnel. A 100% solids, silica-filled epoxy putty that meets federal VOC regulations and is acceptable for use in meat and poultry plants, Ultra Quartz is packaged in a 35-pound container, enough product to cover 13 sq. ft. at a thickness of 1/4". Surface primer (included) ensures superior adhesion to existing surfaces."
