Haydon Switch & Instrument, Inc., a provider of
stepper motor based linear actuators, has announced the addition of a new
product line, Leadscrew Assemblies, to its offering of linear motion products.
Haydon's line of leadscrew assemblies includes a variety of acme leadscrews,
advanced coatings and anti-backlash nuts. These products are designed to provide
designers with improved axial system stiffness.
Haydon offers a comprehensive selection of acme leadscrews manufactured from 303 stainless steel, produced with Haydon's proprietary precision rolling process and tight lead accuracy. The leadscrews are also available with Haydon's Black Ice coating, a specially developed PTFE coating process, which eliminates flaking. The leadscrews are available in diameters ranging from .1875" to .375". For each diameter there are a variety of leads available.
Haydon's new anti-backlash nuts are designed for applications that require precise positioning as they eliminate the minimal backlash between the lead screw and nut interface. The nuts are manufactured from a proprietary self-lubricating polyacetal that, when combined with Haydon's rolled stainless steel leadscrews, provide low drag torque and smooth operation throughout the life of the assembly. When supplied from the factory with Haydon's standard lubricant, these nuts are designed to operate for the life of the application without re-lubrication. They can also be operated without lubrication when combined with Haydon's Black Ice coated screws. Three anti-backlash styles are available as well as a new low profile freewheeling design.
The new nuts are available with a thread mount and are customizable with a variety of standard or special flange configurations. These nuts are available in a range of diameters and leads.
