Gesswein Introduces DIAbide End Mills and Mold Mills
DIAbide diamond-coated carbide end mills and mold mills are specifically designed for high-productivity milling of graphite electrodes. Mold mills feature a relieved shank that provides a typical extended reach of ten diameters; this relieved shank allows the cutting edge to remain in full contact with hard-to-reach sidewalls. All are produced to the tight tolerance standards necessary for precision mold making and tool-to-tool repeatability. Furthermore, Sp3 DIAbide end mills and mold mills last up to 50 times longer than carbide end mills, according to a company spokesperson. Square- and ball-nose styles are available.
