Southwestern Industries has released two new
products: the ProtoTRAK EMX CNC and the TRAK DPM SX5 bed mill.
"The ProtoTRAK EMX is an easy-to-use product that is great for first time CNC users or for basic knee mill work," said a company spokesperson. "Features of the ProtoTRAK EMX include programming canned cycles, part graphics, math help and DRO routines. Programming can be done directly at the conversational-style control, or on the computer using the EMX offline software. The ProtoTRAK EMX comes complete with digital servo amplifiers and motors, precision ballscrews and a USB thumb drive for program storage and transfer. The ProtoTRAK EMX is available as a complete retrofit package or integrated into a TRAK Knee Mill.
"The TRAK DPM SX5 bed mill with the ProtoTRAK SMX control may be operated manually, or as a 2- or 3-axis CNC. The solid ram moves up and down for Z-axis operation providing mass behind heavy cuts. TRAK bed mills come standard with a mechanical vari-speed head and can be upgraded with an electronic head that gives the user programmable spindle speeds and the ability to tap. Precision-ground ballscrews are installed in the table, saddle and ram. The mill wide way surfaces are hardened and ground and slide ways are Turcite coated."
