Vturn-40CV - 15" Chuck, 85" Center, VDI Live Tooling
To meet the increasing demand for an 85" center
CNC lathe, Victor Taichung showed the Vturn-40CV model with A2-11 spindle nose,
15" chuck and live tooling at IMTS. The Fanuc Oi-TC control with 10.4" LCD
display, Manual Guide i, oil skimmer, 50 HP spindle motor and two step gear are
standard with this model. Headstock on CV model will be upgraded to built-in
spindle (DDS) and the bar capacity will stay the same at 3.58 inches. The Sauter
hydraulic turret used on VT-46CV will be also used on the VT-40CV, with a 9.4 HP
milling motor.
VT-A26 - New with 10" Chuck, 35" Center
The latest technology built-in spindle (also
called DDS - Direct Drive Spindle) is included as standard on this new A-series
lathe for smooth part surface finish and high angular accuracy. The Victor
Taichung milling turret is added for C-axis applications.
Fortune reports the following features of the VT-A26:
Wider span to support the headstock.
Wider boxways, wider turret carriage.
No slide ways below chuck to avoid chip build-up.
Front removable coolant tank to save space.
Spindle oil cooler and air conditioner for electrical cabinet are all standard.
Coolant flush on Z-axis cover, Kitagawa chuck, programmable tailstock body and quill.
VT+15 with Easyway Robot for Automation
On the VT+15 cell with a robot, the tailstock is
removed to install this type of robot and some minor modifications on the right
side guarding of VT+15 & 20 or VturnII-16 and 20 are required to enable the
robot to pick up parts from the work feeder that is located to the right side of
lathes. The turning center includes a 6" chuck and 6,000 RPM spindle.
"Compared with a gantry robot, this type of robot has less idle time for part changeover. Because the spindle can keep turning while the gripper loads the completed parts onto the work feeder and then picks up more raw material from the feeder. The time is only seven seconds compared with 15 seconds on a gantry robot," said a Fortune spokesperson. "This cell is more compact to load more small parts in a narrower space than gantry robot system. The installation time is also much shorter than with a gantry robot."
Vcenter-102B - with 1000-PSI High-Pressure Coolant
The Vcenter-102B is the mid size of Fortune's
vertical machining centers. It has a 40" x 20" x 22" travel and three models to
choose. This particular model is all boxway with gear head, CT-40,
coolant-through-spindle with 1000-PSI coolant and mist collector. The 1,000-PSI
coolant system and mist collector are provided by ChipBLASTER.
