Vision Wide VF 3000 Series Double Column Machining Center from CNC Systems

"The Vision Wide VF-series Double Column Vertical Machining Center is a feature rich high precision, heavy duty machine built for medium to large size workpieces," said a spokesperson. "The massive vertical columns, slanted cross rail and base are meehanite castings and heavily ribbed to reduced thermal distortion and provide superior vibration dampening. The X, Y and Z axes are top quality hardened and ground box ways with class 'C3' precision chilled ball screws.

"The spindle construction is a heavy-duty design incorporating a true two-speed 6,000 RPM gear drive system that provides powerful cutting torque at low speeds and stable cutting characteristics and low noise at higher speeds. This unique separately chilled headstock utilizes top quality components manufactured in Japan, HAMADA KOKI JIS '0' ultra-precision gears and NSK 'P4' class spindle bearings. The spindles are assembled and vigorously tested by Vision Wide to ensure maximum spindle life.

"The combination of the slant-bed style cross rail and unique spindle center-line layout provides the VF with incredible rigidity and unparalleled accuracies while eliminating unbalanced cutting conditions and keeping thermal expansion to a minimum.

"The Automatic Tool Changer is a simple but heavy duty electric cam driven dual arm type, with a 40 or 60 (optional) position by-directional, random tool magazine with tool lengths of 17.7 inches and tool weights of up to 40 lbs (CT-50). Chip management system consists of twin screw augers, which feed a standard steel belt conveyor at the end of the machine. A high-volume flood coolant system and 500 PSI CTS provide coolant for all application conditions.

"The standard Fanuc 18i MB control with the latest alpha i series servo motors and AICC (HPCC optional) offer high speed, accurate contour machining. The 1 Giga Byte ATA built-in card (Fanuc Data Server) provides mass program storage and Ethernet connectivity."
