A new pre or post-installation pick window modification kit for the Remstar Shuttle Vertical Lift Module (VLM) can help metalworking companies quickly meet changing product characteristics, warehousing requirements or business needs, the company said.
"The entire Remstar Shuttle VLM's modular construction and rail panel design allows the number of pick windows, their size and location to be changed at any time," said a company spokesperson. "Changing pick window height, for example, allows the storage of bulky items such as drums, pallets, large tooling, fixtures and crates. Moving a pick windows location can effectively link work areas and facilitate material sharing in metalworking storage and retrieval operations while taking advantage of the Remstar Shuttle VLM's high density storage capacity.
"The Shuttle VLM is an enclosed system of vertically arranged trays, an ergonomically positioned extraction platform and computerized controls for automated retrieval of stored materials. Using CubeStar technology, each tray is automatically scanned and stored in the Shuttle VLM in the smallest possible space, maximizing vertical storage density."
