New ILM Data Sheet from Columbia Marking Tools

A new one-page data sheet describing the In-Line Dot Peen Marking System (ILM) is available from Columbia Marking Tools, Inc.

The ILM data sheet provides specifications and applications for the standard unit that can produce text, serial numbers, logos or dates and time marks at a line speed of up to 3.93-inches per seconds. Optional units can handle line speeds up to 9.84-inches per second, said a company spokesperson.

"The data sheet explains that the dot peen marking head is equipped with either seven or nine marking styli position in-line but slightly off-set and are pulsed on-command from the system controller. The head is fixed and the work passes underneath on either an in-process transfer mechanism or conveyor where the work is in a consistent orientation or plane with the marking head. The computer control system can support all the standard Windows operating systems as well as being integrated into the customer's specific software. The control determines when and where the dot impressions are placed to produce the marks. With an optional software upgrade, UID/2D Square Dot 2D Matrix codes can be marked as well," said the spokesperson.
