PRIMA Adds New Software Technology to its 3-D Laser Systems
PRIMA LASER TOOLS, a leader in 2-D,
3-D laser machining and automation, announced that it has chosen to integrate
Cenit North America, Inc.'s v5/LaserCUT Software into all of its 3-D laser
cutting systems. The PC/Windows-compatible software provides users with many
capabilities in conjunction with local support.
The software features advanced solids, surface and wire-frame geometry functions with IGES DXF, DWG and CATIA converters included. In addition, this offline programming solution supports the most modern 3-D laser cutting and trimming technologies. V5/LaserCUT is used by companies such as Ford, Volvo, AUDI, VW, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, SAAB, as well as many laser shops.

LaserCUT's advanced features include automation functions such as math data clean-up and 3-D fixture builder for holding fixtures with unfold/nesting and 2-D tool path creation. Automated programming/simulation tools provide full control over machine motions to create smooth, collision-free tool paths. Simple tool path manipulation features overcome machine tool or process-specific constraints, such as travel limits or variance between actual part and math data. In addition, the software's reverse engineering features enable uploading of G-Code or RML-Code back into CAD/CAM software for further manipulation or to provide feedback to engineering.
