Genesis Systems Group Awarded Light Seal Patent
Genesis Systems Group, an industry
leading integrator of robotic welding and cutting systems, was awarded a U.S.
Patent on a light-tight seal for use with robotic YAG laser equipment. The light
seal includes a window having a rotatable divider panel. Flexible sealing flaps
engage the divider panel in the sealed position providing a light tight seal.
A "light tight" enclosure is needed for YAG laser equipment to protect the operator from the potential harmful beam. The Genesis light seal utilizes flexible seals that block light and create a "light tight" enclosure. It also utilizes a double flap seal which provides two sealing surfaces that prevents a direct line of sight into the enclosure where a laser system is operating. The light seal is durable, efficient in operation and can be easily removed and replaced, a company spokesperson stated.
Genesis Systems Group is an industry leader in the design, manufacture, and building of robotic systems for welding and cutting applications. Founded in 1983, Genesis is one of the largest U.S. owned-and-operated robotic arc welding workcell manufacturers in North America. The company has installed more than 1,600 robotic welding systems in more than 36 states and 7 countries.
