Pratt Burnerd America/Atlas Workholding has introduced the new Self-Contained Pneumatic B60 Power Collet Chuck. The collet chuck does not require the lathe, grinder or rotary table to have a hydraulic system, rear actuator, restrictive draw-tube or air feed tubes. Instead, the new collet chuck is operated by an air cylinder integrated into the collet chuck body.
"Many of the new tool room lathes or flat bed lathes now come with a CNC control but with manually operated chucks," said a spokesperson. "These machines are not equipped with a hydraulic system to operate a power chuck. Our new integrated pneumatic cylinder power collet chuck will save thousands of dollars converting the machine to a power collet chuck simply and easily.
"We also offer models that will accept 5C, 16C and B42 collets with high accuracy and speed range up to 5,000 RPM."
