"GROB Systems, Inc., Machine Tool Division will
spotlight the modular-based durability and precision performance of its
U.S.-built G350 horizontal machining center. The new system to be demonstrated
features an innovative design that makes the G350 cost effective, provides for
five axes productivity and flexibility, and the engineering and quality to last
up to three times longer than comparable systems," said a GROB spokesperson.
"The G350 incorporates a slide-mounted spindle module-located to one side of the machine's centerline-that results in a precise and stable Z-axis with twice the tool rigidity of conventional quill feed systems, establishing 0.01mm (0.00039 in.) positional tolerance and 0.005mm (0.00019 in.) positional variation. The G350 design also provides excellent front and side access for part loading," continued the spokesperson.
The system has a working range travel of 600mm, 655mm and 675mm (23.6 in., 25.8 in. and 26.6 in.) in the X, Y and Z-axes, respectively. Speeds for the X-axis are to 65m/min, Y at 36m/min and Z of 90m/min (2,559; 1,417 and 3,543 in/min respectively). Standard spindle speed is up to 12,000 RPM (8,000; 10,000 and 18,000 RPM optional).
Four control options (Fanuc, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth and Heidenhain) are available.
The G350 includes a 40-pocket tool disc magazine (rack-type magazine for 140/221 tools) to accommodate HSK 63, CAT 40, BT 40 or Big Plus 40 style tools. GROB offers turnkey automation components with pallet changer, pallet pools, robotic handling or gantry system for auto load/unload, delivering 24/7 unattended operations.
In addition to demonstrations of the new G350 horizontal machining center, the GROB exhibit will include engineering specifications and performance data for the company's full range of G-Series precision machining centers and automation systems.
