Datron Dynamics, the North American subsidiary of
Datron-Electronic GmbH, will demonstrate its new "M10 Power" vertical machining
center at IMTS. Designed for machining in non-ferrous materials, such as
aluminum and plastics, the M10 offers up to 40,000-RPM with a 3.0 kW high
frequency spindle. The toolchanger holds 11 small mills and drills with
diameters ranging from .002" to .375" for a host of applications in aerospace,
medical, and electronics. The M10's X, Y, Z work envelope is 40 x 28.5 x 9.25
inches.
Additional highlights and benefits of the new VMC include rigid steel construction with a solid granite table or concrete polymer table for precise and low-vibration motion. It has a functional, ample access design with a storage compartment. Its high-efficiency cooling and lubrication system uses only the fluid that it requires. The M10's chip disposal system can be adjusted to accommodate different production volumes. "Its operating costs are low because of using electricity efficiently and coolant savings. Intelligent sensors monitor all operating states of the mechanics and the advanced PC-based control system can compensate for tolerance variations automatically. The software is Windows based and easy to learn, just by following the menu-driven interface," said Bill King of Datron Dynamics.
