Absolute Introduces You Ji YV-1200ATC Vertical Turning Center

"Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. offers this heavy-duty, highly productive VTC, which is designed for stand alone applications or easy integration into production lines. The machine, which is ideal for industries such as aerospace, oil-field and energy, can be customized to meet virtually any production requirement.

"The YV-1200ATC boasts a solid machine construction that enables heavy duty machining and high precision. Its rigid vertical column and base are Meehanite castings, heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration dampening. The Z-axis is a box way design with Turcite B, and the X-axis is available in your choice of linear or box ways. The ways are completely enclosed, and a forced lubrication system further ensures high precision.

"The Z-axis is a large square ram (9.8" x 7.8") made from cast steel that ensures extreme rigidity, even when extended the full 35". Precision Class 3 ballscrews are driven directly by servo motors, eliminating belts or gears for high precision. The cross rail is moveable on box ways and is hydraulically clamped for rigidity and precision. The cross rail is infinitely positionable.

"The spindle construction is a heavy duty design incorporating a high precision 18" diameter Timken Cross Roller bearing and NN type roller bearings to withstand high axial and radial loads. The spindle is also protected from coolant contamination by a double labyrinth seal. Tremendous table torque is developed by the 60 HP Fanuc high torque spindle motor coupled with the two-speed ZF gear box. The two-speed ZF gearbox transmits power through another intermediate gearbox, and the table is then driven by a Class 1 ring-and-pinion gear that provides a further gear reduction and torque multiplication. Spindle/table torque is an impressive 9,220 ft-lb, providing the power for heavy duty machining.

"The ATC stores 12 tools with a #50 taper tool attachment. This umbrella-style ATC provides shortest route tool selection and is completely shielded from chips and coolant. Chip control is excellent as chips and coolant wash directly into the standard chip conveyor.

"A highly reliable Fanuc OiT-C control is standard. Options include a C-axis for drilling and contouring. The C-axis can be positioned to 0.001-degree for drilling and tapping. It can also be used as a full contouring-axis. The live tooling used for the C-axis is backed by a 10 HP, two-speed system that delivers up to 2,400 RPM. Other custom options include larger tool changers, 2-pallet APC, coolant through the live spindle, part probe, linear scales in X and Z, and more."
