American Heat Treating Serves the Entire United States

American Heat Treating services the entire United States with quick turn-around, competitive pricing and metallurgical specialists.

The laboratory at American Heat Treating is equipped with cutting, mounting, grinding and polishing equipment, and a microhardness tester for case depth and microhardness evaluation. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment in both its processes and quality inspection, many processes meet or exceed strict military specifications for materials such as alloys, tool steels, nonferrous and titanium. The plant has furnaces with heat ranges of 100-2250 degrees Fahrenheit and capacities up to 30,000 pounds. "With capabilities which include cryogenic deep freezing, blasting, flame hardening, vacuum, carburizing, carbo-nitriding, stress relieving and annealing, American Heat Treating is proud to be Ohio's most complete heat treating facility," said a company spokesman.

The vacuum furnace holds a maximum of 30" x 48" x 28" and is used for air hardening tool steels, hot work steels, solution anneal of stainless steels, precipitation hardening steels, bright hardening and bright annealing.

Maximum capacity of the atmosphere furnace is 30" x 48" x 26" and is used for neutral hardening, carburizing and carbonitriding.

The shot blaster has a 60" x 60" diameter shot blast area and holds 5,000 lb loads maximum. The shot blaster is used for wheelabrating and sandblasting.

The carbottom is used for stress relieving, normalizing, annealing and vibrastress also available, with maximum capacity of 12' x 6' x 4' 11".

American Heat Treating operates two cryogenic freezers with maximum capacities of 19.5" x19.5" x 11" and 98" x 98" x 36". Temperatures to -300 F to 300 F, these machines offer deep and shallow cryogenic freezing.
