Grieve Introduces 2200¡F Bench Furnace

The Grieve No. 729 is an electrically-heated bench furnace, currently used for oxidation test runs at approximately 2050¡F. The workspace dimensions measure 8"W x 12"D x 8"H. This furnace is equipped with an optional 26"H floor stand. A 6KW heat input capacity is installed in high temperature alloy wire heating elements, supported by rugged ceramic plates. The maximum continuous operating temperature is 2200¡F.

This furnace is equipped with a gas spring-assisted, manually operated vertical lift door. The door hot side faces away from the operator at all times. A door interlock switch turns off power to the heating elements when the door is opened and restores power when the door is closed.

The six-inch thick energy-saving lightweight ceramic fiber insulation consists of one inch of 2600¡F ceramic board, two inches of 2300¡F ceramic board, and three inches of 1900¡F fiberglass block insulation. Temperature is controlled and maintained via a microprocessor-based, digital indicating temperature controller. Safety equipment includes an analog, solid-state, manual reset excess temperature controller and separate heating element control contactors.

All Grieve furnaces are fully factory-tested for performance and safety, prior to shipment.
