Total Vacuum Facility Announced

Piedmont Heat Treating, Charlotte, North Carolina, serving the Southern metal working industry since 1956, announces the addition of a state-of-the-art vacuum facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina.

To handle the increased demand for the company's thermal processing services, a new Abar Ipsen 6-Bar Turbo Treater vacuum furnace has been installed along with a Varioclean system from Abar Ipsen. Unlike conventional systems, the Varioclean apparatus will combine aqueous and vacuum technologies to insure thorough cleaning and degreasing of complex parts. The proprietary design combines immersion washing and vacuum boiling and/or agitation, two stage rinse and integral vacuum drying.

The new Abar Ipsen 6-Bar Turbo Treating (48" x 36" x 36") and the Abar Ipsen Varioclean joins a smaller Abar Ipsen 2-Bar Turbo Treater currently providing quality heat treating services to satisfied customers in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and surrounding states.

Cooling rate control is the addition to the equation of solving complex distortion problems. Selective variable speeds are now often controllable with the addition of our new vacuum equipment. Maximum hardness through pressurized quenching plus variable speed quenching equals distortion control.
