has announced the sale of two HGC800 Horizontal 5-Axis Rotary Trunnion Grinding
Centers to Mitsubishi Power Systems, Orlando, FL.
"The new HGC800's will be the centerpiece in the manufacture of turbine vanes for ground-based power generation gas turbines," said a company spokesperson. "These machines are capable of using plated CBN, Vitrified CBN and conventional grinding wheels as well as milling and drilling tools.
"With delivery in 2008, these MAX -TEK Grinding Centers will be housed in a new $64.5 million dollar Mitsubishi Power Systems facility as a long-term investment in increased capabilities for combustion turbine blade and vane component manufacturing.
