Unison has
announced the introduction of the Model 2000 WDN for precise computer-controlled
automatic grinding wheel dressing. This machine is suited for dressing both
conventional and super-abrasive grinding wheels. In addition, the Model 2000 WDN
can be used as a network hub for Unison Windows-based CNC Grinders to store and
wirelessly retrieve grinding wheel profile programs. The Model 2000 WDN is also
shipped with a complete software package to use the machine as an off-line
programming station and to develop part programs for Unison Grinders when it is
not being used for automatic wheel dressing. The spindle of each machine is
custom-made to fit the taper size of each customer's wheel adaptors so the Model
2000 WDN can be used to automatically dress wheels for any grinding machine.
The Model 2000 WDN is equipped with a state-of-the-art Unison Programmable Controller. The controller can store up to 10,000 different grinding wheel profiles and up to an additional 10,000 different part programs. The Model 2000 WDN is easy to use and requires only simple inputs using a fill-in-the-blank approach to develop wheel and part programs. When the Model 2000 WDN is equipped with an optional wireless network hub and modem, the operator can wirelessly send grinding wheel profiles and part programs to all Windows-based Unison CNC grinders. One of the major benefits of using a Model 2000 WDN as a network hub is to minimize operator errors when transferring wheel profiles and/or part programs to the customer's Unison grinders. The Model 2000WDN can also be equipped with a modem for dialing a telephone number of a maintenance supervisor alerting them when the machine stops working.
