"The new TRIMTEX Flap Disc from CS Unitec is the best solution for grinding weld seams and spot welds," said a company spokesperson. "Tightly spaced perpendicular zirconium flaps (twice as many as conventional flap discs) allow the user, for the first time, to combine different operations through contact pressure changes. This dramatically cuts the grinding time and tool costs. The TRIMTEX Flap Disc is ideal for smoothing welds in corners, on flanges and along flat surfaces, producing clean, soft transitions for a perfect look. An extremely high number of flaps provides very long service life. "The disc's self-trimming backing plate is made of natural hemp with a polypropylene binder. The first of its kind, this backing material is safer for the user and the environment. The abrasive fabric is 100 percent pure zirconium and is available in grits from 40 to 80 on discs 4-1/2-inch and 5-inch diameter. "Hemp fiber high-tech compound is an almost ideal base material for flap disc backing plates; it is elastic, heat-absorbent (for low grinding temperatures), very easy to trim, safe to use and easy to dispose of. The cavities of the hemp fiber structure have a highly insulating, damping and noise-reducing effect, thus enhancing the safety features of the discs.
