Okamoto Corporation has announced the IGM-2MB. The next generation machine is Okamoto's best selling I.D. production grinding machine. It is designed to provide high-levels of precision accuracy and high-production capability.
The IGM-2MB was designed for production type single I.D. grinding for hydraulic components, machine parts, gears, etc. The machine is equipped with a high-speed table motor drive system instead of hydraulic servo valve and achieves the same 500 reciprocation as 2mm table stroke, the company reports.
The machine is equipped with the same user-friendly functions and grinding process setup like its predecessor. It features a teaching system for table stroke and dress position, coolant ON/OFF, a color LCD monitor, user friendly operation, and is capable of 36-recipe storage together with selected manual switch position, two different table speed setting for coarse/intermittent or fine grinding, total table enclosure with interlock for standard safety. ,all movement by AC servo motor control for easy positioning and adjustment, and increased grinding spindle motor to 5-HP, said Okamoto.
