"The VM20 measurement and control system for grinding machines offers OEM's and end-users a viable, user friendly, precise, lean, automatic control system for grinding machines," said a Balance Systems spokesperson. "The VM20 offers automatic wheel balancing to a tolerance of less then .02 microns in less than 45 seconds using BSC's patented Planar Technology. The balancing heads can be internal (mounted inside the spindle) or external, with an option of embedded AE sensing in both internal and external balancing heads. Other capabilities include AE (Acoustic Emission) sensing for grinding crash control, gap elimination, precision wheel dressing, etc. Automatic parts gauging (diameter, positional, taper control, and roundness) by either pre-, in-, or post-process. The gauging fingers are equipped with the industry's only breakaway capabilities, allowing the gauge finger to break away from the collector if a crash by the grinding wheel occurs. This contributes to the ever increasing lean manufacturing process in today's manufacturing industry."
