Ellison Technologies will feature live demonstrations of machine tools from its premier builder, Mori Seiki, as well as advanced technology from their automation division, Automated Concepts, Inc. (ACI), at the Great Lakes 2007 Exposition and Conference. Ellison Technologies will showcase Mori Seiki's NMV5000-DCG, a 5-axis control, high-precision vertical machining center. "This machine will demonstrate the improved surface quality achieved by simultaneous 5-axis machining," said a company spokesperson. "It is equipped with the best features for 5-axis machining - DD motors, DCG technology, box-in-box construction, octagonal ram construction, and a 3-D interference checking function. The NMV5000-DCG was recently awarded the '37th Machine Design Award (Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize),' sponsored by the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. "Also making its debut is Mori Seiki's Dura Series machine. The DuraVertical 5100 (VMC) is part of the new low-cost, high-value Dura line, honored with one of the 2006 'Best New Products Awards' sponsored by Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. The Dura Series boasts great durability and reliability as well as outstanding cutting performance and value. Ellison will also have on display Mori Seiki's best seller, the NL2500SY (CNC lathe). This rigid and precise machine has a built-in milling motor. This feature has been recognized by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and awarded the 2004 JSME Medal for New Technology. This revolutionary design minimizes heat generation and vibration while eliminating transmission losses. The new design increases both live tool machining accuracy and cutting performance.
