Buck Chuck will bring to the inaugural Great Lake
2007 Exposition, at the DeVos Center in Grand Rapids, MI, a dynamic
demonstration of its extensive range of chucks and other advanced workholding
technologies, the company said. The Buck lineup, designed for lathes and turning
centers along with integration into machining centers and other processing
systems requiring rotary-type fixturing, at the exhibit will include precision
power chucks, manual chucks, and an array of hydraulic actuating cylinders for a
variety of applications. The display will feature Buck's Ajust-Tru
self-centering scroll chucks in 6, 8, 10, 12 and 15" diameters, with three-jaw
or six-jaw styles, and having solid jaws or with master/top jaw options. Other
manual chucks exhibited will include economical BVC-style units.
Also highlighted at the display will be Buck's precision air chucks, providing 1µm repeatability accuracy for both its two-jaw and three-jaw styles and through the three sizes offered: four-, six-, and eight-inch diameters. The precision chucks feature pre-machined tapped holes to minimize the need for field modifications, and incorporate a lubrication path for connection to auto-lubrication systems. A built-in cylinder is designed to generate stable pressure to assure precise gripping power. The selection of hydraulic rotating cylinders shown will encompass a variety of styles: Logansport, SP and high-speed for vertical, horizontal and inverted applications. The display will illustrate the broad selection of bore sizes, strokes, operating pressures, drawbar forces and options (ports, metrics, rapid actuation, variable pressure, etc.) available.
