IEMCA has partnered with York Technical College's
Institute of Manufacturing Productivity (IMP) in Rock Hill, SC. Students are
trained on state-of-the-art machining centers and other high-tech machining
systems.
IEMCA is providing the college with a Prodigy 551 bar feeder, which will operate on an Okuma ES-L lathe. The Prodigy supports a wide range of bar diameters and can run small- or extremely high-volume production. The six-foot long machine is designed for use when floor space is limited.
The Prodigy 551 will show the York Tech students in real time how bar feeders benefit the entire system and how productive precision metalworking can truly be.
"We chose IEMCA for their global reputation in the bar feeder industry," said Bill Beaver, Director of York Tech's IMP. "They are very customer-oriented and are known for their extremely high level of customer satisfaction. They go above and beyond all expectations."
York Technical College is one of the nation's leading providers of advanced manufacturing training. "It's exciting to know that future manufacturing technicians will be using IEMCA equipment," said Stu Busman, IEMCA's Regional Sales Manager. "The union of the industry and the community serves as a wonderful benefit to everyone involved."
