American Piping Products Develops New Operations Headquarters |

In order to streamline operations and make room for future expansion, American Piping Products recently developed a new sales and operations facility that is now the flagship of the Houston pipe facility's campus. American Piping Products specializes in supplying heavy wall carbon, stainless and chrome-moly steel pipe, fittings and valves used extensively in the oil and gas and power generation industries as well as for manufacturing and construction applications.
"This new building serves as the focal point of the entire Houston facility," said Al Rheinnecker, Chief Operating Officer of American Piping Products. "Our old operations facility was poorly positioned and there wasn't room to grow as a company within the building. As a result, American Piping decided to invest in our property by building a new operations building that will streamline operations work and give our sales staff room to grow."
The new Houston operations center is a 1,600 square foot brick building that sits at the entrance of the 22-acre storage yard and steel pipe exporting campus. As a result of the expansion, the shipping and receiving team can easily observe all of the comings and goings of the plant. Additionally, the new building is significantly larger than the older facility. It now houses 14 employees and has room for about 10 more new positions to accommodate expected company growth.
"We knew that if we wanted to expand as a company, we needed to first build a central office in Houston that had room for calculated growth. We plan to add at least two sales positions and also grow in our operations department over the next couple of years. And now we have the room to grow," said Al Rheinnecker. "The contractor on the expansion was Chambers Construction and the architect was Gary Rodgers Architects. American Piping is now the largest stocking distributor of seamless pipe in the United States with over 20,000 tons of material ready for immediate shipment. Stocked in our facility near the port of Houston, we can ship just about anywhere in the world within 30 days."
