"The
economical new Keller EGO 5.5 pump/skimmer unit is designed specifically to
remove tramp oil from coolant in high pressure coolant supply systems," said a
Keller spokesperson. "Tramp oil contamination is particularly detrimental to the
performance of high pressure coolant systems because of problems with foaming
and loss of cooling efficiency and lubricity at the working part. The EGO 5.5
pump/skimmer continuously pumps coolant from the surface of the supply tank,
removes the tramp oil and returns the clean coolant to the tank at high flow
rate, with virtually no operator attention. The EGO 5.5 unit, conventionally
mounted on the cover of the high pressure coolant supply tank with a magnetic
mount supplied by Keller, pumps oily coolant through a floating inlet device,
separates the tramp oil with a patented coalescing oil separator element that
never needs to be serviced or changed and continuously recirculates the coolant
at 180 gallons per hour. Because the coolant in the high pressure system supply
tank is always prefiltered to remove suspended solids, the EGO 5.5 pump/skimmer
utilizes a low cost electrically-driven submersible pump. Keller is the leader
in coolant cleaning with over 5,000 pump/skimmer units operating successfully in
the field."
