CNC Software to Sponsor SilverHorse Racing
SilverHorse Racing announces the
addition of MasterCam CNC Software to their 2001 racing team as a sponsor. The
agreement was inked to bring the CAD/CAM manufacturer into SCCA road racing of
which SilverHorse Racing is a part. The first season of the partnership will be
on a regional level, with CamTech Engineering services being the sponsoring
dealer for the state of Florida.
CAD/CAM software allows designers and
engineers to draw, dimension, and design parts in a virtual environment, and
then transfer that drawing into a program that tells CNC machining equipment,
like that sold by SilverHorse Racing's Associate Sponsor, Arthur Machinery, how
to cut the metal into a finished product. CAD/CAM software users need only know
what they want the finished product to look like, and the software does almost
all the rest.
With two sponsors, Arthur Machinery
and MasterCam distributor CamTech Engineering Services, now signed for the
remainder of 2001, SCCA road racing will benefit and have sources for their
machining needs.
SilverHorse racing has prepared their
#88 Mustang with a new rear axle assembly and new front brakes from Porterfield
Racing. "As the car becomes faster, says Marcello Canitano, race car team
owner and driver, "increased braking is required to make it through the
corners, and the result is faster wear of our carbon/Kevlar racing pads. Where
pads used to last up to six weekends, they are now being replaced in four, and
chances are that will go down as the season continues."
SilverHorse Racing has openings for
other sponsors at different levels.
