Anilam has announced that its line of conversational milling controls, the 3000M, now includes external flash program storage with every system. The 3000M is a PC based, 2, 3 or 4 axes control system that is available either as a complete bolt on retrofit package or as original equipment from many milling machine manufacturers. "The system is designed to allow the machine operator to use the mill as a manual machine or run in full CNC automatic mode," said a company spokesperson. "The removable flash card memory provides program storage capacity in addition to the control's 8 Gigabyte hard drive. It also makes transferring programs between the control and other computers very simple." "The 3000M features Anilam's menu-driven conversational programming format," the spokesperson said. "All of the most common canned cycles are provided standard with each control. Canned cycles include pockets (including irregular pockets with islands), mold rotation, drilling, boring, partial and full hole patterns, tapping, spiral helical and ellipse. The 3000M may also be programmed by importing CAM-generated programs. The operator is guided through all programming and execution by simple prompts on the 12.1" TFT flat screen display. The display provides a draw package to review the part program before moving the machine. A wide range of powerful brushless AC servo motors are available and additional machine control functions are optional."
