Fagor Automation is now offering the 8055 MC CNC
System with new expanded features. The 8055 MC CNC is the standard CNC offered
on all Fagor Automation Turnkey Packages.
New expanded features include Rectangular Grooving canned cycle, Slot Milling canned cycle, Ring Milling canned cycle and Internal/External thread milling canned cycles. "These new cycles are simply engineered with the idea that we want our customers to maintain a competitive advantage in the market, to do that we have to continue to develop new features that increases their machines capability and efficiency. These new features certainly add flexibility and capability to our customers machines and that equals improved customer competitiveness," said a Fagor spokesperson.
"Other standard features such as a conversational Speed and Feed calculator that can easily and quickly automatically select your Spindle speed and programmed axes feedrate for your program based upon the various machining conditions including the type of cutter and material. This innovative feature has proven to increase operator efficiency by as much as 20% and is offered as standard on all 8055 MC controls.
"Another standard feature is the innovative Profile Editor. The Profile Editor is basically an on-board mini-cad/cam system. On the shop-floor, the operator can enter in profile data directly off the blueprint into the Profile Editor, the profile editor automatically creates the machine code and enters into your CNC program automatically with no additional knowledge of programming necessary. This feature alone has brought customers back to us many times," said the spokesperson.
"Also standard on the 8055 MC CNC is the new Engraving software package. The Engraving package is offered with the ability for character inclination and custom letter sizing all within an easy to use conversational programming format that allows the customer to simply fill in the blank based the blueprint data. This format allows the customer the ability to create Engraving programs in just a matter of seconds.
"As always, all 8055 MC CNC's are also equipped with a high resolution 11" LCD Color monitor, 500MB flash drive, USB port, full host of conventional drilling, tapping, pocket, boss, bolt-hole, linear/grid hole, facing and profile canned cycles. In addition, Solid Graphics and traditional tool path graphics are both standard features of the 8055 MC.
"The 8055 MC retains its very popular ICON key
conversational operating system as standard plus the unique ability to provide
online 3D G-code programming. The ICON key conversational programming simplifies
programming by allowing the operator to choose the operation based upon an ICON
key. The operator simply enters in the data directly off the blueprint. No prior
CNC programming experience is required. We have customers who have never used a
CNC machine making good CNC programs and executing them in literally their first
hour on the machine, the easy one-touch operation programming philosophy simply
is faster than other conversational programming systems in all aspects," the
spokesperson said.
"Also, the ability to touch-off on your part to quickly and easily determine any part skew automatically due to work-holding errors is a standard feature. With this feature timely calculations by the operator are eliminated.
"However, the 8055 MC is also equipped with an on-board Graphic Editor that allows for quick and easy custom screens and graphics creation. Customers now have the ability to create their own custom editors and graphic screens right on the CNC if they chose too, thus optimizing ease of use and efficiency for dedicated application specific projects.
"Another popular feature is Telediagnostics, in which the Fagor Service Department can dial into the customer's machine via cyber space in real time thus offering Instant Service. With Instant service, the customer can receive instant assistance from a service engineer for any problem that may arise.
"Optionally, Fagor is now also offering a Conversational Digitizing software package that is easily called upon from the ICON key conversational operating system. Utilizing the Graphic screens and fill in the blank program format, now the Digitizing cycles can literally be programmed and put into execution in just one to two minutes. In addition, Ethernet capability is a low cost option allowing for quick & easy machine integration into the companies network.
"Fagor is also now offering the ability to convert
DXF Files automatically utilizing their WinDNC program. The Fagor WinDNC program
is free of charge if downloaded from their website. The program also offers the
ability to convert Fagor CNC 8010/8020/8025 programs to the Fagor CNC 8055
program format. This feature allows customers to utilize older proven CNC
programs with the newer technology features equipped on the popular 8055 CNC
Systems. DNC software retains the ability to upload/download part programs,
parameters and PLC programs, as well as CNC monitoring, Drip feeding and program
editing," said the spokesperson.
