Carlo Gavazzi Automation Components introduces its largest size Electronic Motor Controller for Soft Start/Soft Stop in the RSE series of DIN-rail mount motor soft starts. This new product, the RSE-4025, is a 25 amp rated (20 hp @ 460 VAC) DIN-rail mount combined soft start and soft stop unit, designed for use with most common motor and pump types.

The advantages of Motor Soft Start and Soft Stop can be numerous. Sudden and jerky starting and stopping of the motor causes premature wear on many system components. Starting of motors with RSE Soft Start/Soft Stop reduces the mechanical load on motors, shafts, gearboxes and drive belts. The lifetime of RSE-controlled equipment is thereby substantially increased and the cost of maintenance is reduced.

RSE Soft Start/Soft Stop units can be adjusted for Ramp Up time, Ramp Down time and Initial Starting Torque. This allows the system to be adjusted to fit your application. If the system moves components on a belt or conveyor line, the adjustments will allow you to prevent spilled, toppled and ruptured components normally associated with sudden motor starts and stops.

RSE Soft Start/Soft Stop products are perfect for many applications including compressors, pumps, conveyor belts, blowers, fans and mixers. In addition, RSE products have been used in lifting devices, garage doors, lift doors and palletizer devices.

The size of RSE Soft Start/Soft Stop products may also fit your needs. The DIN-rail mount package is 45mm wide for the RSE-12 amp product and 90mm wide for the RSE-25 amp version. This width includes an integrated heat sink and bypass relays.
