Balluff Introduces BOS 2K Photoelectric Sensor

"Balluff's new BOS 2K family of photoelectric sensors combines full functionality in a package that's 20mm x 7.5mm x 10mm in size," said a company spokesperson. "The sensors offer the same functionality found in much larger sensors. BOS 2K sensors have a scan range of up to 1.2 meters. They offer four different sensing modes including diffuse, for part identification; diffuse with background suppression, for part configuration and placement; retroreflective, for parts verification and counting; and thru-beam versions for part sizing and position information." A full range of reflectors, mounting brackets, and connectors are available.

The sensors can be attached in slots, pockets, guide rails or most any place a sensor is needed. They are suitable for a variety of assembly and handling applications-including error proofing-and are also suited to meet the requirements of the semiconductor industry. Each sensor contains a pinpoint LED emission feature.

The IP67 rated plastic housing offers protection in harsh environments to ensure long service life. Metal sleeves on the sensor body work with M3 screws to provide fast, convenient attachment.
