Affordable Automation for Small Haas Lathes
According to Haas, adding a bar
feeder to a CNC lathe is one of the fastest and easiest ways to increase
production and reduce cost for high-volume parts. The Haas Bar-100 automatic bar
feeder is a low-cost pneumatic bar feed system designed specifically for Haas
SL-10 turning centers and mini lathes.
The Bar-100 handles stock up to 1.06" (27mm) diameter, and provides automatic loading of single bars up to 6' (1.83m) long using an air-driven push rod. With the push rod removed, bars up to 12' (3.66m) long can be loaded for manual feeding using a bar puller (bar puller not included; additional liner components required). A convenient tray underneath the feed tube provides storage for multiple bars and has a built-in scale for measuring bar length. A three-point leveling system simplifies setup.
A simple control interface allows the operator to program the Bar-100 to run complete bars or produce a fixed number of parts. The Bar-100 operates from the lathe's control and runs off the machine's power and air.
All cables and software are included when purchased with a new Haas lathe (field installation may require additional hardware and software). Retail price for the Bar-100 is $3,495.
