Control featuring advanced DXF Translation software at SOUTH-TEC CHARLOTTE 2004.
TRAK K-Series vertical mills with the SM Control are factory-integrated CNC packages designed for machinists by Southwestern Industries. The machines can be operated in three modes, manual, teach and CNC. The TRAK milling systems are available in two-axis and three-axis CNC configurations. All systems include a standard three-axis DRO system. The ProtoTRAK SM CNC is a full-featured, advanced Windows based CNC for milling applications that utilizes simple conversational based programming. "It gives you the best of CNC technology for skilled machinists and is easy to use. The SM CNC is now available with advanced DXF Translation software as a low cost, user-friendly option," said Bill Price, president of Price Equipment Company, distributor.
The K-Series milling machines are available in three frame configurations. The K2 is a dovetail way machine with 3 HP head and R8 spindle. The K3 provides a Y-axis box way on a large 16" knee and the K4 includes box ways on knee and column with a rugged 5 HP, 40 Taper head. The TRAK¨ knee mill is manufactured with Meehanite castings, precision CP 7207 spindle bearings and a chromed hardened and ground quill. Also included are precision ground ball screws for the X and Y-axis and hardened and ground ways.
